I’d like to have my throat slit
But for a reason other than death
I’d like it done so that I’m spared
The hoarseness after shouting
Loudly and painfully for an hour.
It would be nice to be deaf as well
And blindness the cherry on top
For I’ll be spared some sickening sounds
Along with the sight of stupidity at play
While I’m gnashing my teeth in rage.
The best thing that could happen, however
Is for me to lose every ounce of sense
And thus join in the madness of the masses —
Their collective attempts at excelling in errors,
Thus enjoying the tide of merry mediocrity.

make me numb to the pain of
witnessing the collective substandardness,
to fashion faux pasES, bubais and babuns, poltus,
to injury of the senses...
to everything but the dhak and the dhuno.
ah only if it were such. :)
Why does this remind me of Nietzsche?
No, I would not want to join the masses, no matter what. THe prospect makes me shudder.
Individuality, having the courage to feel always exacts a price. Sometimes we all need respite.
But that is all we need- respite.

Oh and yes! In all this time, I don't think I've blog-rolled you. My memory's awful. Will you join my Penguin Army?
Ali: Oh everything in life extracts a price. Now whether you'd call it paying depends on your perspective. Wouldn't you agree?
