Incorrigibly Insane

Date: 20.04.2008
Time: 8:15 p.m.

As the shimmering starlight shone wondrously
Upon the foreheads of those joined in thought
The full-moon’s sumptuous beam of hope
Made fears of possible days fade far,
The night air was laden with heat and dust
Of many a warm breath let out as sighs
Separated by a distance so numbing
Yet brought together by the firmament’s power.

A pause
A silence
A rejoinder
A laugh
And the twinkling stars and yellow moon
Chuckled together and watched them swoon.

O darkness, sweet darkness!
O mood most besotted…
Caressed most tenderly by a reflection
Cast as beautiful through the eyes of devotion.

A pause
A silence
And then a steady stream of laughter
Animated voices
Conveyed beyond and after.

Those spirits dancing in moonlight spoke
Of worlds entwined and content with hope
Prepared to brave the cunning guile of Time
And soar defying earthly distance’s hold;
Reigning starlight and raining starlight
Merged in air with the ecstatic moonlight…
And the spirits twirled to halt the seconds,
To stay forever fixed in eternity’s embrace.

End: 8:45 p.m.

I must repeat: "O darkness, sweet darkness!"

It is sweet indeed eh? Sometimes, all we need is the gracious veil of honeyed oblivion.
To find where you are at the end of it all is a beautiful adventure in itself! And to find ecstasy at the end of a long tunnel is why we travel in the first place. :)
